Viewing Users

To view users in VAST Web UI, choose User Management -> Users.

By default, the Users page lists all user entries defined on the local authorization provider.

To display user details from a different provider, or to query from all providers, run a  user query. In the query results, the context indicator (at the top right of the page) will change to indicate the context of the query.

If you navigate away from the Users page and then go back to it, the default (local) context appears again with a full listing of any and all local users.

The following information can be displayed per user:

Tip

To display or hide fields, click column_menu.png to the right of a column title, and then click columns.png to open a dropdown where you can select or unselect fields.

ID

The VAST-internal ID of the user.

Name

A user name.

Login Name

The user's login name.

UID

The UID associated with the user name.

Note

The UID is the user ID attribute used by the NFS protocol.

SID

The SID associated with the user name.

Leading Group

The name of the user's leading group.

Leading Group GID

The ID of the user's leading group.

Groups

The names of other groups the user belongs to. Also known as auxiliary groups.

Historical SIDs

Shows the user's previous SIDs.

To be able to display this field, run a user query.

S3 Connections Count

The number of S3 connections active for the user.

This field can be displayed only after running a user query. It is displayed only for users that have a QoS policy with the S3 client connections limit is set to a value greater than zero.  (This includes a default QoS policy with the limit over zero.)
