The VAST Database is built on the existing VAST storage infrastructure and uses the same low-level storage elements as the other protocols that VAST presents (NFS, SMB, S3).
This means that you can make snapshots, and use advanced data reduction with the VAST Database, and benefit from simplified storage and compute scalability.
