While data is being synced to a clone, you can pause/resume the background sync. The data remains reachable to user requests when you pause or resume.
Pausing and Resuming Background Sync of a Global Snapshot Clone using the VAST Web UI
From the left navigation menu, select Data Protection and then Global Snapshot Clones.
Right-click the global snapshot clone and select Pause Sync or Resume Sync as appropriate.
In the confirmation box, click Pause or Resume again.
Background sync is paused/resumed.
