Locating Failed Devices

To identify a defective slot, SCM or SSD, open the Hardware Layout page. The defective slot or drive is indicated by a red bounding rectangle, as shown in the image below.

To easily access the hardware information pages, select Infrastructure from the VMS menu to open the Infrastructure page, then click Tree View to view a hierarchical view of all the hardware in the cluster. Select any hardware to open the information tab for the selected hardware.

Click the links in some columns of the Infrastructure page to navigate to other hardware objects such as CBoxes, DBoxes or DNodes. Click any link to open the information tab for the specific hardware.

To navigate to the Hardware Layout page from the Infrastructure page, right-click a row in the Slots, SSDs or SCMs tab of the Infrastructure page, and select Hardware View.
