VAST Cluster's analytics platform gives you insight into your capacity utilization and your cluster performance. VAST Cluster provides graphical views of performance and capacity reports through the VAST Web UI. You can also query the same reports through the VAST CLI and view them in a tabular format.
Where is data collected from?
Raw data is polled from all the CNodes in the cluster. Reports can show you metrics for the entire cluster or per CNode, an Element store view, or a protected path.
How far back is data available?
Raw data is polled every ten seconds and is available for 24 hours. Data is aggregated from the raw data to samples of different granularity. Availability varies by granularity:
Granularity | Available for |
|---|---|
Ten seconds (polled raw data) | 24 hours |
Five minute aggregated samples | One week |
Hourly aggregated samples | One month |
Daily aggregated samples | One year |
What metrics can I see?
Performance metrics include IOPS, bandwidth and latency and are available as separate measurements for read and for write IOs, as well as per storage protocol. They are also available specifically for metadata.
Capacity metrics include physical space, physical space in use, logical space (our estimate of how much space you have remaining), and logical space in use.
