Deleting Tenants

Deleting a tenant results in deletion of the tenant data and associated VAST entities, such as views, quotas, identity policies and so on. The tenant directory is also deleted.

Note

Deletion of the default tenant is not allowed.

Deleting a Tenant via VAST Web UI

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Element Store and then Tenants.

  2. Right-click the tenant you want to delete, and select Remove.

    A confirmation box appears.

  3. In the confirmation box, type the tenant name in the provided field to confirm the deletion, and click Yes, Delete Permanently.

    The tenant is deleted.

Deleting a Tenant via VAST CLI

To delete a tenant via the VAST CLI, run the tenant delete command.

Note that if the tenant has data in its directory, you need to run the tenant delete command with the --force option specified.
