The VAST Web UI dashboard offers you a quick and easy way to monitor your VAST Cluster.
The dashboard has two display options:
Cluster Dashboard. This dashboard appears by default when you log in to the VAST Web UI. To return to it at any time, click the VAST Data logo at the top of the page or select Dashboard from the left navigation menu. This shows summary information for the cluster.
Tenants Dashboard. This dashboard, shows summary information for up to ten tenants defined on the cluster.
Cluster Dashboard
This dashboard these cards:
You can choose whether to show information in these cards in MB/s or GB/s, using the selector in the upper left corner of the page. This allows you to scale the display according to the anticipated amount of data.
Capacity
The Capacity card shows the ratio of usable to logical capacity or ratio of usable to logical capacity.
Usable capacity is the realistic usable capacity of the fixed initial space reservation for background activities and the overhead of parity blocks introduced by each write for data protection.
The Capacity card features the following:

Data Reduction. The data reduction ratio (DRR), continuously computed as the ratio of all data written by your data clients to the cluster (including snapshots) to the usable capacity in use. This figure reflects the reduction performed by the cluster through compression, deduplication and such.
A graph depicting overall storage capacity with a breakdown of each of the capacity measures, Used, Snapshots, Pending Deletion and Free.
A detailed list of the Used, Snapshots, Pending Deletion and Free capacity, with indication of the amount of Usable and Logical space size for each capacity type:
Used
Snapshots
Pending Deletion
Free
Usable
The amount of usable space in use by primary data. The higher the data reduction ratio, the lower this value is relative to the amount of data that is logically written.
The amount of usable space in use by snapshots.
The amount of usable space in use by data that has been moved to trash or deleted but deletion is still in progress.
The amount of space available for use computed dynamically based on overhead impact.
Logical
The amount of logical data written to the cluster by data clients. This figure does not include snapshots.
The amount of logical data written to the cluster that was deleted and is being held as data by snapshots.
The amount of logical data written to the cluster that was deleted and is being held as data by deletion in process.
The estimated effective free capacity remaining for writing data to the cluster, computed dynamically based upon the observed data reduction ratio and overhead impact.
A percentage of Metadata usage. The percentage of the cluster's metadata space that is being used.
A percentage of iNode usage. The percentage of iNode utilization in the cluster.
Note
By default, the units of measurement shown in the dashboard are base10 units. If you prefer, you can switch to base2 units.
Inventory
The Inventory card shows the main components of the cluster's hardware inventory and status information.

The card shows the count of components in the Active, Failed or Other state. ( Other refers to components in states other than Active or Failed.)
Tip
Click
to go to the Infrastructure page that lists relevant components and provides detailed information about their status.
Performance

The Performance card dials show real-time metrics.
In Default mode, the following client data access metrics are displayed:
Bandwidth. The rate at which data is transmitted between the client network and VAST Cluster.
Tip
Hover over the dial to display read, write and total bandwidth. Click the dial to toggle between total bandwidth and a breakdown of read and write bandwidth.
IOPS. The number of I/O operations performed per second.
Tip
Hover over the dial to display read, write and total IOPS. Click the dial to toggle between total IOPS and a breakdown of read and write IOPS.
Latency. The time needed to perform an I/O operation.
Tip
Hover over the dial to display read, write and average latency (a weighted average based on read IOPS and write IOPS). Click the dial to toggle between average latency and a breakdown of read and write latency.
If you select Replication mode, the above metrics are shown for the connection between native replication peers.
If you select VAST DB mode, the following metrics are shown:
Bandwidth. The rate at which data is transmitted between the client and VAST Cluster.
Running. The number of currently running database queries.
Scanned. The number of database table rows scanned per second.
Metric Graph Cards
Each graph displays the levels of selected analyzed metrics as they varied in recent seconds. You can change the combination of metrics displayed on each graph.

To change which metrics are displayed on each graph, click
and then select the metrics you want to display.Hover over a point on a graph to see the values of the metrics at the selected point in time.
Tip
For deeper analytics, use analytics reports.
