Advanced Multiprotocol Options

The following default multiprotocol behavior can be modified via the VAST CLI for multiprotocol (SMB and NFSv3) views:

Behavior	Description	How to Modify
GID inheritance	Determines how files receive their owning group when they are created. The following options are available: linux (default). Each new file inherits its owning group from the group ID of the user who creates the file. bsd. Each new file inherits its owning group from the group ID of the parent directory.	To change this default, either set it when creating a view policy using the viewpolicy create command, or change it using the viewpolicy modify command.
