About this Guide

This Tenant Administrator's Guide is intended for tenant administrators of the VAST Cluster.

The guide describes the administration of a single tenant on VAST Cluster. It describes the tenant administration features that can be accessed at the tenant-specific VAST Web UI by cluster managers with type Tenant Admin.

Tenant administrators have visibility into the users and buckets using the tenancy, without visibility into other tenants or tenant client users sharing the same cluster.

They can perform these activities on a single tenant of a VAST Cluster:

  • Create and manage client users and groups for the tenant.

  • Create and manage tenant identity policies and S3 keys, and associate them with tenant client users and groups.

  • Create additional tenant administrators for the tenant.

  • Create and manage buckets. Tenant administrators can create S3 buckets and view buckets created on the tenant by client users.

  • Create and manage views that share buckets, and regulate access with view policies, quotas, and lifecycle rules.

  • Create and manage VAST Databases.

  • Create protected paths for views in the tenant, and set up replication of these views to another cluster.

  • View analytics information for the tenant, including data flows, metrics, and capacity statistics.

For information about administrating VAST Cluster as a cluster administrator, including managing multiple tenants, see the VAST Cluster Administrator's Guide.
