Networking

  • VAST Cluster 5.0.0-SP10 provides extended monitoring capabilities for InfiniBand clusters through integration with OpenSM, an InfiniBand-compliant subnet manager. Starting with VAST Cluster 5.0.0-SP10, if the cluster uses IB networking on its internal interfaces, each CNode in the cluster participates in OpenSM High Availability scenarios.

    For new installations, OpenSM is deployed and run on all CNodes automatically.

    For non-disruptive upgrade of clusters where OpenSM has already been deployed, contact VAST Support to enable the service on all CNodes and manage its configuration files. DO NOT PROCEED without first involving VAST Support to manage the upgrade.

Authentication & Authorization

  • ORION-102746: In addition to supporting SID History for users, VAST Cluster now supports SID History for groups. Up to 12 historical SIDs are supported for Active Directory users and groups. (Previously, only 2 historical SIDs were supported.)

VAST REST API

  • ORION-143292: Added an endpoint, api/plugins/usage, that reports versions of VAST Cluster plugins such as VAST CSI Driver.
